The Mississippi University for Women will be hosting the Mississippi Philosophical Association’s Annual Meeting at its campus on Friday March 1st and Saturday March 2nd. The conference will be accompanied by an AI-human generated art exhibition that will be open to the public throughout the month of March.

This year’s theme is “Philosophies of the Future.” Friday, March 1st, join a series of speakers and panels that engage with issues such as contemporary political philosophy, philosophy of science, artificial intelligence, race, and collective responsibility. Following these talks,  keynote speaker Travis Holloway,(philosopher/poet) and author of How to Live at the End of the World: Theory, Art, and Politics for the Anthropocene, will give his address.

Early Friday evening, there will be an opening wine reception and gallery talk for philosopher/ artist Robert Leib’s exhibition on AI-human generated art at the
Summer Hall Galleries on the MUW Campus. Dr. Leib is the author of a recent book Exoanthropology: Dialogues with AI. Participants will be able to engage with his art as well as ask questions during his gallery talk.

On Saturday March 2nd, we will be partnering with philoSOPHIA: a society for continental feminism to hold a series of talks that deal with feminist philosophies of the future. Speakers will discuss gender and race dynamics in the South, gender biases in AI, trans rights, new directions in feminist theory, and sexism on campus.
