MHC Federal Funding Canceled

On April 2, the Mississippi Humanities Council was notified, along with all other state councils, that our funding from the National Endowment for the Humanities was canceled in its entirety effective immediately. As a result, most MHC programs and grants are paused until further notice.

Our Mission

A More Perfect Union: Mississippi Founders

With special funding from the National Endowment for the Humanities, we launched the “Mississippi Founders” project, highlighting twelve Mississippians who fought to create a more perfect union. These men and women were crucial to the expansion of full constitutional rights to all citizens in Mississippi.
