Cottrell Street is one of the most historic streets in the City of WestPoint and leaders wanted to spread some of the history to those who don’t know much about it.
Cottrell Street used to be the life of West Point in the 50’s and 60’s but things died down after that. Now town leaders and residents want to restore the celebration and tell the story of the street at a symposium held during the weekend festival help May 12, 2023. The symposium will educate the community of the importance of and education THEN during segregation and integration compared to NOW.
