Bessie Coleman Aviator Historical Presentation

Gigi Coleman, the great niece of Betsy Coleman, travels the country telling the story of her great aunt Betsy Coleman. On Thursday, February 22, The Mississippi Aviation Heritage museum invites the public to learn about America’s first black woman pilot and the history behind her obtaining that elusive pilot license, in an era where blacks where not allowed to fly, and much less a female. Gigi Coleman, will do a power point presentation as well as a video for the public to learn about this most persistent woman whose name has earned a seat at the table be along side the likes of Limbergh and Earhart.

 

The event will take place on February 22nd with a reception at .6:00 PM followed by the speaker at 6:30 followed by Q&A.
