Dr. Chris Goertzen is an Associate Professor of Music at the University of Southern Mississippi with a focus on Western Music History and World Music, American Vernacular Music, and Mexican Crafts. He has authored several books author such as Fiddling for Norway: Revival and Identity; Southern Fiddlers and Fiddle Contests; Made in Mexico: Tradition, Tourism, and Political Ferment in Oaxaca; George P. Knauff’s “Virginia Reels” the History of American Fiddling; and American Antebellum Fiddling.
