Windsor Ruins Lecture Series

December 5 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm

Free

Dr. Hasan Kwame Jeffries will travel to Claiborne County on Thursday, December 5, to visit the Windsor Ruins, a site that once enslaved 150 African Americans. Due to the lack of infrastructure at the Ruins, he will deliver a public lecture at Alcorn State University, sharing his genealogical findings and stories of the formerly enslaved people from Windsor and their descendants.

As MDAH concludes its stabilization efforts at Windsor Ruins, a renewed focus is placed on ensuring the public comprehends the historical significance of this landmark. Anticipating heightened public interest this summer, there’s a pressing need to authentically convey the experiences and impact of those enslaved at Windsor. This upcoming program marks the launch of MDAH’s flagship lecture series centered on Windsor Ruins.
